Highland Piper UK, professional piper for all occasions
 
Joining Highland Piper Associates:
To join Highland Piper Associates you must be an
experienced Highland Piper of Grade three or above. This
is required in order to provide our customers with
a quality service synonymous with our name and image.
Joining Procedure
Please submit a recording of your playing, this must
be a March, Straspey and Reel (two or four part),
you may include other styles eg, jig, air etc. The
tunes must last less that five minutes and be sent
in the MP3 format.
Any recording device must be used as long as we can
hear your standard of playing and technique.
At the start of the recording please say your name
in full. The recording must be you playing and not
of anyone else.
When we receive your
recording a competent piper will assess your standard, if accepted you will be added to our database which
members of the public will be able to search.
Dress and Deportment
You must present yourself to your clients in a professional manner wearing traditional highland dress, military uniform, traditional clothing or suit.
In military terms it is not recommended that you wear a hat (glengarry) indoors
Please ensure your shoes are clean and free from mud
Instrument
When playing it is recommended that you tune your instrument out of earshot of the client, fine tuning is recommended if required for environmental conditions.
Always carry a spare reed should your existing reed become faulty.
Wearing and display of weapons
You are responsible for the safety of any weapons you may display on your persons.
Sgian Dubhs, Dirks or other sharp implements must not be unsheathed in a public area and must not be given to any persons for any reason other than security personnel or police.
Under the current UK legislation it is understanded that you may wear or display a weapon on your person as part of a national or traditional dress. You are advised to check with the local police on the current legal status of wearing such items in a public or private area.
Working with children
Please note as pipers may come in contact with children/youths we will not accept any persons who have a criminal record or are registed on the sex offenders register.
You are also strongly advised not to be in the presence of youths without an accompanying adult present
Statement of Facts
You request to join our database you are required to provide the following statements:
You are/are not registered with any UK or overseas sex offenders register's
You hold/do not hold public liability insurance.
You hold/do not hold professional insurance.
You agree not to play any copyrighted music for any public broadcast without the copyrigh owners permisison.
You agree not to bring into disrepute the name of Highland-Piper.net, its owners
or other associates
You must notify us of any changes to the above
Data Protection
You have the right to view or amend any information held by us about you under the UK Data protection act 1998, this request must be put in writing providing you name and address.
Legal:
1/ You agree to indemnify Highland Piper for any
actions taken against you in regards to referrals
received from this web site.
2/ These terms may change, registered associate (you) will be notified by email of any changes to the terms.
3/ The associate (you)
has the right to terminate membership of highland-piper.net, you must notify highland-piper.net by email of you request
4/ We will remove you from our database within 28 days from receipt of you request for removal
5/ These terms do not form part of a contract between the associate and the website owners, highland-piper.net, the associates client or highland-piper.net's client.
6/ You agree that by becoming an associate of highland-piper.net that you may be requested to submit to a criminal records or background check.
7/ As an associate of highland-piper.net you must adhere to UK legistlation or the legislation of the country of performance.
8/ The associate must notify highland-piper of any changes to their professional or legal status.
